Arrived in NC after a hellish ride down - detail that later - want to talk about the house while it is fresh in my mind. August 17th - Day 1: got to the house after 2.5 hours sleep and started working about 8:30 am, waiting for the locksmith to come - house was wide open for months. A lot of cleaning upto do - nasty curtains, rugs, shades, blinds, garbage & shit - ripped down the UGLY cornices immeditaely from the reception hall, parlor & dining room. Much better. Locksmith man came and installed 3 dead bolt locks, while I was ripping the covers off the fireplaces - except the dining room - that's going to be huge task...ugly brick veneer. Parlor went fine, library one had a load of dirt & crap in it, but the upsatirs bedroon one had a fucking nest of shit - literally - a nest! and was filled to the brim with rocks & sticks and sand & leaves and shit. Gross.
My dad is screaming that dinner is fready (at 8:45 pm - that's early for the McNulty's) so will continue later. Arg.
