Okay actually made it home in 10 1/2 hours - record time - even tho there were 50 mph gusts of winds on Route 95. Got a good amount done this trip - refinished the fireplace in fireplace bedroom, ripped down the sheetrock & painted the Wainscoting - did molding on 2 of the new windows, was supposed to have the other two installed, but Randy the window guy tells me "I'm sorry, Miss Christine, the windows won't be in until next Friday" So I am heading back down December 11th. Also finished gutting the library where I found a neat secret hiding place under the stairs, which I am going to keep cause it's really cool - Opened up the 'Harry Potter" Closet into the room, and I think I am going to make that part of the room - like an alcove - just cause it adds some dimension - I did get wacked above the eye with a flying piece of wainscoting - bled like hell & not I have a pretty little scar.
Went to see the Flotilla in New Bern on the Neuse River Saturday night, all the yachts and boats decorate themselves for Christmas, then parade around union park - that was neat, but it was friggin cold!
Stayed an extra day as we had the snow/ice storm here in NJ, so I locked up on Saturday and went to spend that nght at my moms. So I took the ferry from Minnesott Beach over to Havelock across the Neuse - that was cool - as I had never done it before. Helped mom & dad put up their Christmas tree and do the decorations outside.
So I am home running around trying to do all the holiday shit that I have to squeeze in before going back on the 11th, and in addition I have to renew my license. Bleh! Also have to get the back window fixed on the jeep - its hanging on with Duck Tape!
